Living It Up At The Landing

Walking into this lakeside dive makes me feel like a native. With an outside bar and a sunset mural this is where Jimmy Buffet would live if he ever made it to Lake Norman. Forget Margaritaville.

The rib sampler is finger-lickin’ good, and I don’t even like ribs. I went through one, two, three… nine napkins with one order.

Sweet, there’s a jukebox. That can’t be George Johns’ Greatest Hits in there.

I have to order the Oh My Cod sandwich simply because I want to say that. Who knew fried cod could taste like this? And the hoagie bread is just as yummy. Oh My Cod!

Millie’s homemade meatballs taste like something from Little Italy. That’s amore!

Service is brisk and to the point. The staff knows lake people, and the lake people know them.

Have to come back on Wednesday night, so I can go shaggin’ with my “sixty-minute man.”

A peek at the arcade reveals a pool table, a Star Wars pinball machine, Ms. Pac Man – hold onto your joystick – Galaga.

For dessert I order a Tiger Tail. One of their Island Oasis Smoothies, it features “funky layers of mango and wildberry.” The whipped cream on top grabbed this tiger by the tail.
